A Special Week Full of Chanukah Activities
Dec 23rd, 2008 | One Comment | 647 views | Print This Post | Email This Post ]Our Mesorah girls started Chanukah with a wonderful Chagiga in the lobby of our building. Replete with beautiful decorations and delicious Chanukah treats, the evening began with a Dvar Torah which tied together the events of the night. The girls, who were joined by Torah Day School’s eighth graders, had a wonderful time.
Monday and Tuesday mornings after davening, our teaching interns, Bracha and Melanie, prepared Chanukah-related and meaningful activities for our students. They tied each of the five senses into Chanukah, made beaded jewelry, wrote poems and made key chains for each other, and sang and danced to lively Chanukah music.
The Veranda Preston-Hollow held its annual Chanukah party for residents and their families on Monday evening. Several of our students who visit on a weekly basis were there to help the staff run the party. The girls are forming relationships with the residents and learning a lot from them.
On Wednesday night, Dec. 24, our students are invited to the home of Rabbi and Esti Abrams for an evening of Chanukah games, dreidel, nosh, latkes and more. The fun begins at 7:30 PM at 5731 Charlestown Dr.
A freilachen Chanukah to everyone.
