Donation Opportunities for Hurricane Sandy Victims

Hurricane Sandy has brought extensive damage and disruption to the New York area, especially to those near the coast.

Neighborhoods with large Jewish populations are among those affected and the situation for many is extremely difficult.  There are many Jewish families who have lost everything.  Shuls and schools have been destroyed or very badly damaged.  Money, clothing, food and supplies are immediately needed to help with the relief efforts.  Jews around the country are being urged to help in any way we can.

The following are some opportunities for us all to help:

*Achiezer Community Resource Center, along with Agudas Yisrael of America, is coordinating relief efforts for the hard-hit Jewish communities of Far Rockaway, Bayswater, Five Towns, and others.   They are providing Kosher food, clothing, generators, and supplies to these communities.  You can donate at:  https://www.achiezer.org/donate.php.

*The Orthodox Union fund is http://www.ou.org/giving/hurricane-sandy-ou-relief-fund/.

*The Jewish Federation of Greater Dallas has set up a hurricane relief fund, as well.  You can donate through the Federation website at: www.jfgd.org.

*In addition, DATA (Dallas Area Torah Association) is taking donations through the DATA Discretionary Fund and can be mailed to DATA, 5840 Forest Lane, Dallas, TX 75230. Credit card donations can be made online at www.datanet.org or by calling the main office (214)987-3282.

Through our generous efforts may we help bring relief to those who are suffering.

Sincerely,

Rabbi Avraham Zev Kosowsky
