Mazel Tov to Rabbi and Mrs. Kosowsky

Mazel Tov to our headmaster, Rabbi Avraham Zev Kosowsky, and his wife, Daniella on the birth of a son on the 3rd day of Chol Hamoed Succos. May he merit to have his bris on time and may all of Klal Yisroel share in the nachas.

Rabbi and Mrs. Kosowsky invite everyone to the Shalom Zachor which will be held Friday night, October 9th at 9:15 p.m. at the home of Rabbi and Mrs. Klein, 6115 Prestoncrest Lane.

The Bris will, G-d willing, be held Wednesday, October 14th at 7:45 a.m. at Congregation Ohr Hatorah, 6324 Churchill Way.

SUKKOS Activities Planned

Our students are invited to celebrate Sukkos with some of their teachers at the following times:

Monday, October 5 at 7 PM in the Goldfeder Sukkah – 6307 Prestoncrest Lane for all students and staff

Tuesday, October 6 from 10:30 AM until noon for Mrs. Hurwitz’s Navi 3 and 4 classes in the Hurwitz Sukkah – 6323 Prestoncrest Lane

Thursday, October 8 from 8:30 PM until 9:45 PM in the Rosenblatt Sukkah – 6039 Prestoncrest Lane for all students. Students are invited to sing, learn about Hoshana Rabba, shmooze, and nosh.

We encourage all students to participate. Have a wonderful Yom Tov – Moadim l’Simcha.

MAZEL TOV to Nachum and Malkie (Rosenberg) Ozeri

A big Mazel Tov to Nachum and Malkie (Class of ‘04) Ozeri on the birth of their bachor, born Rosh Hashana morning at 7 pounds, 2 ounces. Mazel tov also to the grandparents: Yoram and Leah Ozeri and Shelly and Rachel Leah Rosenberg, and great grandparents: Mr. and Mrs. David Rosenberg, Mr. and Mrs. Leon Danziger, Savta Nira, and Rabbi Larry Borenstein. May he bring much nachas to the entire family and to all of klal Yisroel.

Condolences to Mesorah Parent, Norman Epstein

Our condolences to Norman Epstein, father of Shira Epstein, Class of ‘13, on the loss of his mother, Sarah bas Hoda Mariasha. The funeral was held last week in Montreal. Due to Rosh Hashanah, Shiva is not observed. May they be comforted among the mourners of Zion and Yerushalayim.

Mazel Tov to Yaakov Zabludowski and Shayna Rothstein (Class of ‘07) on their recent engagement. Shayna is the daughter of Mesorah Board President, Dr. Joe Rothstein and his wife, Roni. A special mazel tov to the Rothsteins, Benjamin and Ruth Zabludowski, and their entire families.

Preparations for the New School Year

Preparations are in full swing for the opening of the 2009-2010 school year. We are excited about our annual retreat scheduled for August 31-September 1. Student Orientation will take place on September 2, with regular classes beginning on the 3rd. This school year promises to be an exciting one, as we implement new academic programs and expand religious and social opportunities for our students.

We are pleased to welcome the following new faculty members to Mesorah. Joining our Judaic Faculty will be Mrs. Elana Hurwitz, and Tova Mojdehiazad and Devorah Tanny, our teaching interns. Joining our General Studies staff will be Ms. Amie Demmel. We would also like to welcome back Mr. Leonard Scott who is returning to teach one section of history.
