Mazel tov to Rabbi Yehudah and Esti Abrams on the birth of a baby girl, Rina Tova. Mrs. Abrams has just completed her ninth year on our Judaic studies faculty. Rabbi and Mrs. Abrams are an integral part of the Mesorah family and we wish them and their entire family much nachas from their new daughter and sister.

Sunday afternoon, Mesorah students performed “Carrying the Banner” to a sell out crowd. You won’t want to miss our final performance Monday, May 24 at 6:00 PM at Congregation Ohr HaTorah, 6324 Churchill Way. (Please note location.)

Tickets are $10 for adults and $5 for children and are available at the door if you have not purchased them in advance. For information, please call 214-420-1990, ext 103.

Maisie Rayman, of blessed memory

We express our deepest condolences to our bookkeeper and board member, Shelley Lurie, on the passing of her mother, Maisie Rayman. Shelley was in South Africa for the levaya and shiva and will be returning home before Shavous. May she and her family be comforted among the mourners of Zion and Yerushalayim.

10th Anniversary Dessert Gala – May 16, 2010

Mesorah High School invites its friends and supporters to join us this Sunday, May 16, as we celebrate our 10th anniversary with a Dessert Gala.

We will honor Sheldon and Rachel Leah Rosenberg with the Founders Award; Mrs. Suri Rosenblatt with the Teacher Recognition Award for 10 years of dedicated service, and Joe and Tzipora BenAmi with the Community Leadership Award.

This exciting event will take place at 7:30 PM at Congregation Ohr HaTorah, 6324 Churchill Way. Tickets are $50. Sponsorship opportunities are available.

With much excitement, we announce the engagements of last year’s teaching interns, Bracha Konigsberg and Melanie Deverett. Bracha is engaged to Yaakov (Yisrael) Berzansky from South Fallsburg, NY. Mazel tov to both the Konigsberg and Berzansky families. Melanie is engaged to Moshe Mernick from Toronto. Mazel tov to both the Deverett and Mernick families. May both couples merit to build a bayis ne’eman b’yisroel.

The third mazel tov goes to Mesorah student Sapir (Class of ‘13) Shimon and her family. Sapir has a new baby sister, Shirel. Mazel tov to the entire Shimon family. May they have much nachas from all of their children.

Condolences to Allan Schwartz on the loss of his Mother

Our deepest sympathy to former Mesorah parent, Allan Schwartz on the loss of his mother, Sara Schwartz. The funeral was held last Friday, March 5, in Panama.

Allan, father of Erin (Class of ‘06) and Liba (Class of ‘09), and his siblings will be sitting Shiva in Panama until Tuesday morning. Tuesday afternoon through Thursday morning they will be sitting Shiva here in Dallas at Allan and Carol’s home, 5979 Meletio Lane.

Mincha/Maariv-Tuesday and Wednesday at 6:15 PM

Shacharis-Wednesday and Thursday at 6:40 AM

May they be comforted among the mourners of Zion and Jerusalem.
