SUPER SUNDAY: Sign Up Today

On Sunday, March 23, 2008, the Jewish Federation of Greater Dallas will hold its annual Super Sunday fundraising event. We need to show our support by having 100% parent participation from Mesorah. Please read the following press release from the Federation and pick the time slot and location that works best for your family. If you can only come for part of a session, that is also fine. Every phone call is potential support for Mesorah. Please call 214-420-1990, ext. 103 or email srich@mesorahhighschool.org with the time and location you are available and we will send it in to the Federation.

Federation calls for all volunteers to
help at Super Sunday

DALLAS, TX (February 26, 2008) — The Jewish Federation of Greater Dallas (JFGD) is seeking volunteers for its annual Super Sunday Phone-A-Thon, March 23, 2008.  Super Sunday is the largest annual fundraising event in the Dallas Jewish community, raising money for 14 local and 29 national and overseas agencies.  Volunteers are needed to call Jewish community members who have not yet made a gift to the 2008 Annual Campaign.  To date, the campaign has raised almost $8 million, but we still need to reach out to our donors to hit the target goal of $11 million!
There are three volunteer shifts throughout the day at the Jewish Community Center (7800 Northaven Road in Dallas), all including childcare: 10:30 a.m. to 2 p.m., 1:30 p.m. to 5 p.m., and 4:30 p.m. to 8 p.m.  This year, the 10:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. shift will also be held at the Ann and Nate Levine Academy (18011 Hillcrest Road in Dallas).
Kosher snacks and meals will be provided and prizes will be awarded throughout the day.
This year the Federation is asking everyone to bring their cell phones to reduce Super Sunday expenses.  A dollar saved is a dollar raised! Campaign Director Debbie Estrin also hopes to secure at least 1,500 gifts.
Super Sunday Chair Kevin Pailet encourages everyone in the community to come support the Federation in their effort to raise money to provide services and programs to the local agencies and organizations that they support.  “Super Sunday has been an anticipated annual event in Dallas since 1996 and is one of the highlights of the Federation’s campaign year.  This is the premier event for coming together to build up the community, and we want to encourage everyone to come out and make a difference this year,” said Pailet.
Each year, hundreds of volunteers come together as one Jewish community to reach thousands of donors who answer the call to raise much needed dollars to enrich the lives of fellow Jews.  The Jewish Federation of Greater Dallas is the central coordinating agency for the Dallas Jewish community.  It supports over 40 human and social service programs locally, nationally, in Israel and overseas.
