Last Friday, the halls of Mesorah High School for Girls were filled with new faces, spirited energy, and shared purpose as we welcomed students from Chedvas High School of Lakewood. Their visit marked the start of a well-earned reward trip celebrating the successful completion of their Technology Challenge — an initiative encouraging mindfulness and self-control in the digital age.
The morning began meaningfully with Shacharis and a delicious breakfast, followed by a special joint program between our schools. Rabbi Kosowsky warmly greeted both student bodies and shared an inspiring d’var Torah on Parshas Kedoshim. He spoke about what it truly means to be kedoshim — holy — and how choosing to overcome technological distractions is a powerful and relevant way to fulfill that call in today’s world.

Mrs. Jaffe, the principal of Chedvas, followed with a poignant message about the brachos we will one day recite upon greeting Moshiach. She focused on one bracha in particular — one that encapsulates the joy of overcoming one of our generation’s most significant spiritual challenges. Her words gave new meaning to the students’ accomplishment and painted a vision of hope, pride, and redemption.
One Chedvas student reflected on how the Technology Challenge positively impacted her life. She spoke candidly about the clarity, calm, and kedusha she gained in many areas, inspiring everyone in the room.
Representing Mesorah, Sori Blitz shared a moving perspective on what it means to grow up in a community like Dallas. She highlighted the unique warmth of our city, the support we receive from our school and community, and the countless growth opportunities, giving, and connections that shape our everyday lives.
To cap off the morning, the two schools joined for an icebreaker game of “Signature Bingo.” Each girl had to collect signatures from girls they hadn’t met, which sparked smiles, conversations, and new friendships across school lines.
It was a beautiful morning of connection and mutual inspiration. We were so grateful to host Chedvas and to learn from their incredible accomplishments. We hope they left with a taste of Dallas hospitality and the strength of Mesorah’s community spirit. ■
