A Chanukah Reunion Filled with Light, Laughter, and Lasting Bonds

Chanukah is a time of warmth, light, and connection—and this year a Mesorah Alumnae Chanukah get-together (2018 – 2021) captured all of that and more. As has become a cherished tradition, Mesorah graduates from different years and stages of life came together to reconnect, reminisce, and celebrate the bond they will always share.

Hosted by Penina Raofim (née Sionit), Class of 2019, the evening was relaxed, joyful, and filled with meaningful conversation. Over donuts and plenty of schmoozing, the girls caught up on each other’s lives—marriage, communities, growth, and everything in between. From sharing tips about living in Lakewood to laughing about memories from their high school years, the night felt like a natural continuation of friendships formed long ago.

What made the evening especially beautiful was the mix of classes and years represented. Though they graduated at different times, the common thread of Mesorah was unmistakable. Stories flowed easily—favorite teachers, inside jokes, and moments that shaped who they are today. It was a powerful reminder that the relationships built at Mesorah don’t end at graduation; they continue to grow and deepen over time.

This annual Chanukah get-together has become a meaningful anchor for these alumnae—a time to reconnect, recharge, and celebrate the shared values and experiences that unite them. The sense of sisterhood was palpable, proving once again that Mesorah is not just a school, but a lifelong community.
