Today, the halls (and outdoors!) of Mesorah High School for Girls were filled with laughter, teamwork, and a whole lot of chilly fun, thanks to our amazing G.O. heads, Adina Heimowitz and Sori Blitz.
As part of the G.O. theme, “Caught in the Wind,” which focuses on all things cold and wintery, they ran a creative, hands-on ice cream–making activity that had everyone smiling. Each girl received two Ziploc bags—one small and one large. In the smaller bag, they added the ice cream ingredients, while the larger bag was filled with ice and ice cream salt.
Then came the best part: heading outside to shake, toss, and pass the bags back and forth, turning simple ingredients into delicious homemade ice cream. The energy was contagious as girls worked together and savored the process as much as the final product.
After all that shaking and teamwork, the reward was sweet—everyone enjoyed their freshly made ice cream, the perfect treat for a winter-themed activity. It was a wonderful blend of creativity, fun, and ruach, and a great example of how our G.O. heads continue to bring engaging, memorable experiences to Mesorah.
A big yasher koach to Adina and Sori for a cool idea that truly hit the spot! ■
