Dear Parents,
As we approach the final days before winter break, I wanted to share a brief General Studies update and reflect on this moment in our school year.
Across General Studies classes, students are wrapping up their semester work—reviewing key concepts, completing final projects and assessments, and consolidating their learning. Classes will wrap up the semester by January 16th, and all work will need to be submitted by the due dates set by their teachers by the end of the day, January 16th. Final grades will be shared after the holiday break.
Over the past several months, our halls have been filled with excitement, laughter, and singing as students have been deeply engaged in creating their own original production, which will be shared with the community in February. Guided by Mrs. Abrams, students selected a theme, wrote scripts, and collaborated to design every aspect of the production. This has been a significant undertaking, requiring many hours of work both during and beyond the school day. Through this process, students have strengthened essential skills, including writing, critical thinking, collaboration, problem-solving, time management, and creative expression. Projects like this enable students to apply academic skills in real-world settings while building confidence, responsibility, and perseverance. The joy visible throughout the school reflects not only creativity, but also the meaningful learning that comes from seeing a complex project through from idea to completion.
This time also represents a meaningful transition for our school community. As we prepare to leave our current building, we pause to appreciate the learning, growth, and experiences that have taken place here, while looking ahead with anticipation to what lies before us. As Seneca reminds us, “Every new beginning comes from some other beginning’s end.” That sentiment captures this moment well—one of reflection, gratitude, and readiness for what’s next.
While our Headmaster has shared important information regarding the logistics of our move, I wanted to acknowledge this transition from a learning perspective. Our students carry their knowledge, skills, and curiosity wherever they go, and we look forward to continuing this work together in our new space.
Thank you for your continued partnership and support. I wish you and your family a restful and enjoyable break, and I look forward to welcoming our students back refreshed and ready for the next chapter.
