The month of Kislev at Mesorah High School for Girls was brimming with creativity, joy, and community spirit as we celebrated Chanuka and ended the calendar year on a high note. Here’s a recap of the exciting events:
G.O. Rosh Chodesh Activity (Dec. 4)
The month began with a creative burst as our G.O. heads, Shira Brach Katz and Nechama Zakon, hosted a “Build Your Own Menorah Out of Food” competition. Teams crafted edible masterpieces using provided ingredients and a surprise mystery ingredient. Each menorah was accompanied by a spirited presentation, and the activity ended with lively dancing that set the festive tone for Chanuka.
Toy Drive for Chessed (Dec. 10)
Our Chessed heads, Adina Heimowiz and Aliza Sebbag led a meaningful Chanuka toy drive. Students wrapped gifts at school, which were later distributed to children in hospitals, spreading light and joy to those who needed it most.
Tech Team Dreidel Games and Lip Sync Battle (Dec. 13)
Tech heads Shira Heymann and Baila Grebenau organized a thrilling dreidel game followed by a hilarious Chanuka-themed lip-sync competition. Students showcased their creativity and humor, leaving everyone in stitches and adding a playful twist to the holiday celebrations.
Yom Iyun: Miracles and Musical Chairs (Dec. 16)
Esti Michaels and Perel Leah Stolov, our Yom Iyun heads, coordinated an inspiring program featuring Mrs. Becher, who shared her miraculous story about her son Gavriel. The event concluded with glow-in-the-dark musical chairs and a spread of donuts and hot cocoa, creating a warm and memorable atmosphere.
Chanuka Chagiga (Dec. 18)
Talia Shimon, Dina Brown, and Shira Wiener, our Chagiga heads, orchestrated a stunning Chanuka Chagiga. With elegant décor, delicious homemade food, and an inspiring speech by Mrs. Shmueli, the event reminded us to spread kedusha both at home and beyond. Students decorated candles, competed in relay races, and danced energetically late into the night.
Big and Little Sister Program (Dec. 19)
Baila Grebenau and Chayala Heimowitz led a delightful Big and Little Sister activity featuring donuts and a hilarious “Minute to Win It” game. The room buzzed with laughter as sisters competed in funny and engaging challenges.
Chanuka Bagel Lunch and Silent Disco (Jan. 2)
On the last day of Chanuka, Elisheva Sutkin and Sori Blitz treated everyone to a beautifully arranged bagel lunch with cream cheese, fruits, veggies, and cookies. The G.O. heads wrapped up the celebrations with a silent disco. Dancing to music heard only through headphones created a unique, laughter-filled experience for everyone involved.
