This week at Mesorah High School for Girls, we were privileged to engage with a perspective-altering message through our Rebuilder session. Life presents an unending sequence of events; too often, we zoom in on what goes wrong. It’s easy to become frustrated and bogged down by obstacles, setbacks, or less-than-ideal moments. However, this week’s Rebuilder was a call to action — a powerful reminder to shift focus and begin noticing the countless things that continuously go right.

Drawing an analogy from business, where accurate scales are crucial for fair and honest transactions, we learned that our minds, too, must maintain their balance when weighing life’s experiences. If negativity is given too much weight, it distorts our perceptions, dragging our spirits down and blinding us to the overwhelming good. Our challenge is ensuring that the positive side of our “mental scales” isn’t drowned out but shines through with gratitude, joy, and appreciation.
To embody this transformative lesson, each student received a “Thank You Hashem” sticker — a small but significant token to anchor this perspective in daily life. This gesture is more than an outward display; it symbolizes our commitment to first see events through a lens of positivity and, even more deeply, to recognize that every blessing, every moment that works out, every instance of peace or joy, comes from Hashem. Our focus is cultivating an ongoing awareness that transforms gratitude into a reflex and faith into our outlook.
As we carry this lesson forward, may we constantly recognize the good surrounding us, channel that awareness into heartfelt thanks to Hashem, and keep building ourselves into grateful, positive individuals.
Have a great week, and keep on building! ■
