Sunday, October 26, 2025, 1 PM, Mesorah High School for Girls proudly joined the Krengel family for the annual Dallas Rett Syndrome Strollathon, a moving day filled with inspiration, unity, and purpose.
Under clear skies and radiant sunshine, students walked side by side with Barak, Brooke, Shayna, Hannah, and Abigail Krengel, and other families from across Dallas—each step representing a shared dream for a cure.
Team Shayna Shines Bright
Team Shayna, formed in honor of Shayna Krengel, led the way—raising an incredible $6,910 and earning the title of top fundraising team of the entire event! In total, the Dallas Strollathon set a goal of $15,000 but exceeded all expectations, raising an astounding $24,800 for the International Rett Syndrome Foundation.
The energy of the day was palpable—families connecting, friends cheering, and supporters from all backgrounds coming together for one cause. As one participant shared, “There are no words to explain how emotional, inspiring, and powerful this event is every single year.”
Walking for a Cause, Inspired by Love
For the Mesorah students, joining Team Shayna was more than just an act of chessed—it was a lesson in empathy, perseverance, and the power of community. As they walked, they carried the values that Mesorah strives to instill every day: compassion, connection, and a commitment to making a difference.
The Krengel family expressed heartfelt gratitude to everyone who participated, donated, and supported.
“Your support for Team Shayna, our family, and the entire Rett Syndrome community will never be forgotten. Thank you for all the love, friendship, and prayers—you’re helping us get closer to a world without Rett.”
Barak Krengel
Mesorah is so proud to stand with the Krengel family and the countless others who are making strides—literally and figuratively—toward treatment and a cure for Rett Syndrome. ■

My family met Barak and Brooke 11 years ago on a trip to Israel. They were newlyweds and so sweet. It has been a blessing to have kept in touch with these two wonderful people. They are an inspiration. We will continue to support them by donating to their cause. Prayers to them and their darling family.
