Catching On at Mesorah: An Amazing Start to the Year!
The new school year at Mesorah High School for Girls has been nothing short of amazing—fun, growth, and inspiration packed into just a few short weeks!
G.O. Breakout: “Catch on MHS”
Our G.O., led by Sori Blitz and Adina Heimowitz, kicked things off with their theme, “Catch on MHS,” and the theme of the month, “Catching up with friends.” The girls enjoyed homemade treats, snacks, games, midday pick-me-ups, and special Friday erev Shabbos goodies to start the year with warmth and connection.
Tech Heads: “Tech Land”
Last week, our talented Tech Heads—Talia Wiener, Liora Goldberg, and Nava Silber—launched their theme, “Tech Land.” They introduced it with a fun and creative game, sparking our journey of growth and awareness, and topped it all off with a delicious ice cream bar loaded with candy toppings.
Power of Words
On Monday, our G.O. heads ran the “Cheerio Game,” reminding us about the power of our words and how important it is to use them thoughtfully and at the right time.
Yom Iyun: Inspiration for the Yomim Noraim
Wednesday brought an uplifting Yom Iyun, led by our devoted heads Basya Senft, Leah Trooper, Rivkie Craven, and Talia Shimon. Students enjoyed small group breakout sessions, beautifully filled “tool kit” folders to guide their Yamim Noraim davening, a thought-provoking speech by Mrs. Rena Wealcatch, and a meaningful project. A delicious lunch spread added to the day’s inspiration.
That evening, the G.O. led a heartfelt Elul kumzitz filled with connection and song. A special thank you to the Quinn family for graciously opening their home and backyard for this moving event.
Racing Toward Chessed
On Thursday, our Chessed heads—Miriam Mernick, Rivkie Craven, and Bracha Quinn—introduced this year’s theme, “Racing Towards Chessed.” Their breakout encouraged us to make kindness a central part of our lives, complete with an elegant spread of acai boards that everyone enjoyed.
Sweet Finishing Touch
To close out the week, our G.O. heads gave out lip candies, tying perfectly into the month’s theme of “catching up with friends at the right time.”
What an incredible beginning to the year! With so much energy, creativity, and inspiration already filling our halls, we can’t wait to see what the coming weeks will bring.
